History

This fine hut is the fifth and latest to be maintained by the SMC. It was opened in 1999 and named the Naismith Hut, after William Naismith, one of the founder members of the SMC. The conversion of the building for use as a climbers' hut was made possible by funds bequeathed by Prof. P.B. Ayscough.

Custodian Message

Please be careful when driving up the track as the road has been resurfaced leaving a large ditch onto the hut track; care should taken in the car park!
