Munro Compleatists

Those who complete (compleat!) the Munros can record this fact and receive the magic number by writing in to The Clerk of The List (See here). Additionally, a list of current compleaters is published annually in the SMC Journal.

Tim writes:
I climbed my first Munro in 1981 when I traversed Aonach Eagach from East to West, so my first hill was Meall Dearg. I did a couple more Munroís over the next twenty odd years as and when I was back in Scotland, but didnít really set my sights on doing them all until I moved to Scotland in 2003. I settled in Edinburgh and, soon after, climbed Ben Cruachan in May 2004. Thereafter, I managed to gather momentum and did most of my hills in the last three years.

My last Munro was Beinn na Lap to the NE of Corrour Station and I climbed it at the age of 52 with 17 friends who came along for the day on Saturday 29th September 2012.

As far as plans for the future go, I have already ducked any suggestion of doing the Corbetts, Grahams or Donalds and plan on settling down to family life and giving my crumbling knees and back bit of a rest. However, I do want to continue introducing others to the wonderful experiences Iíve had while exploring our great outdoors and will be using my ML qualification to that end. The only other finite target I might aim for is to complete the rest of our 3,000ft peaks in the UK.

As an aside, Iíd like to recommend the Corrour Station Restaurant run by Ollie and Lizzie.
