Munro Compleatists

Those who complete (compleat!) the Munros can record this fact and receive the magic number by writing in to The Clerk of The List (See here). Additionally, a list of current compleaters is published annually in the SMC Journal.
Tim Denvir 4855
Ben More (Mull) 25 August 2011

Tim writes: the weather was fair despite forecasts to the contrary. The party were, left to right, James Denvir who flew across from West Virginia just for the event, Jessica Sullivan, Tim Rylance, Ros Rawlings, Selena Denvir-Jones, Tim Denvir, Natalie Sullivan, Joshua Sullivan, Gordon Farquhar (seated), Julian Philipson, Hazel Denvir. Inset on Ben More again are Eleanor Denvir and me with James taking the photo the next day, as Eleanor was looking after her small son Nico on the 25th.

This was the end of a nineteen year quest. My first Munro was Ben Nevis in 1992, as part of the three peaks, Snowdon, Scarfell Pike and Ben Nevis, which I covered by bicycle from London. The next year my friend Oliver Gillie told me about the Munros, so I decided to go for them. I have climbed many Munros with my affable and sociable friends Oliver Julian Gillie, Oliver John Gillie, Andrew Rutherford and Julian Philipson, who was the only one of that group able to be with me this time. I have also enjoyed climbing several Munros with Maurice and Daniel Naftalin, and with family members, James, Eleanor and Hazel.

The Italian-style restaurant in Salen is a good place to celebrate afterwards, a find in such a small village. But you need to book.
