Those who complete (compleat!) the Munros can record this fact and receive the magic number by writing in to The Clerk of The List (See here). Additionally, a list of current compleaters is published annually in the SMC Journal.

David notes: '15 family and friends accompanied me (near centre of photo, with bottle!) to the summit in drizzle on a grey and cloudy day - a complete contrast to the day I climbed my penultimate Munro in the Cuillins in July. The party included my wife Carol (50th Munro), son David (14th Munro), daughter Sarah (first Munro) and friends and colleagues with varying Munro experience. The journey started on Sgùrr nan Gillean on 8 April 1959, so the 680,000 feet of ascent and 2086 miles of walking (or cycling) only took 51 years and 164 days!'
