Munro Compleatists

Those who complete (compleat!) the Munros can record this fact and receive the magic number by writing in to The Clerk of The List (See here). Additionally, a list of current compleaters is published annually in the SMC Journal.

Colin writes: The mountain was climbed along with my wife, Jess, and my friend John Biden(who was completing his 100th Munro) and his two daughters, Louise (aged 13)and Sarah (aged 11). Unfortunately, because it was blowing a gale, not to mention the freezing temperatures, only John and I made the real summit, with Jess and the girls stopping at the trig point, which was an achievement in itself. This meant the champagne had to wait until we got a bit lower down; even then, it was still cold and windy, so we kept moving; then it rained just after we stopped for sandwiches; and then John said I hadn't actually completed the mountain until I got back to the car. So, the champagne was eventually consumed back at the car - after I had carried it all the way to the top and back!
