Those who complete (compleat!) the Munros can record this fact and receive the magic number by writing in to The Clerk of The List (See here). Additionally, a list of current compleaters is published annually in the SMC Journal.

Beinn na Lap - 15th October 2005
This is myself on the summit holding a stone with 'My final Munro' written in Gaelic. It was a bit misty when my friends took it but hopefully it will be acceptable. My description to the Clerk was as follows:
My friends, Innes Munro, Marsaili MacLeod, Anna and Lawrence Thirkell and Dougie Price got the early train from Fort William to Corrour and walked up Beinn na Lap from Loch Ossian. The summit was in cloud and we had no time for celebrations as we had to catch the train at 11:17, which we made with only 5 minutes to spare â€" plenty time for the champagne on the train home though! I walked up my first Munro(Stob Bà n, Glen Nevis) on 28 May 1987 after selling my ZX Spectrum to buy walking boots and a rucksack. I intend to keep on walking Scotland’s hills for as long as I can.
